Help without Frontiers is a non-profit organization which supports mainly refugees from Burma/Myanmar who fled the brutal, cruel and inhuman military dictatorship.
Since 1962, a civil war has been raging on the borders of Burma/Myanmar that has gone largely unnoticed by the world public. This aimed to suppress and assimilate the seven largest minorities and over 136 ethnicities and to wipe out their cultures and traditions in the process.
In Thailand alone, well over 600,000 expellees live in refugee camps or makeshift settlements. The vast majority – up to 2 million refugees – live in jungle regions in the heart of Thailand, which are difficult to reach. A lack of medical care, widespread malnutrition and no access to education renders their plight truly dramatic.
Help without Frontiers cares for thousands of refugees in Thailand and in jungle hideouts in Burma.
Dr. Martin Hellweger, Manager and CEO of Kronberg Gruppe, is a close friend of our founder Benno Röggla and one of the organization’s biggest benefactors. Apart from that, he uses his role as host of the annual summer party to draw attention to relief work and drum up support for donations towards education for children in the refugee camps.
